If you’re running out of fun weekend ideas in the Lion City, consider spending a night in a luxurious tent at Jewel Changi Airport, the entertainment and retail complex of Singapore’s international travel hub. A novel alternative to hotel staycations, the glamping experience can be enjoyed at either the Cloud9 Piazza or the Shiseido Forest Valley. The former is an open event space flanking Jewel’s majestic Rain Vortex indoor waterfall, while the latter is a lush sanctuary of illuminated trees.

From now until January 3, guests can book a night’s stay (from $320) in a glamping tent decked in creature comforts like air-conditioning, blankets, pillows, toiletries, and either a queen or single bed. Decorated with fairy lights, lace buntings, and foliage, each tent promises to be photo-worthy. Depending on which location one chooses, check-in and check-out timings could differ, as well as shower access—for instance, those staying at the Cloud9 Piazza as part of the “Glamping in the Clouds” experience, can shower at Changi Lounge.

Other attractive perks include complimentary tickets to Jewel’s attractions like the Canopy Park, admission to Changi Experience Studio or Manulife Sky Nets, as well as free parking.
Those who prefer not to stay the night can also opt for a “Glampicnic in the Clouds”, where one can enjoy their own picnic spread in a glamping tent that’s well-equipped with table setting, cutlery, wine glasses, cushion seats, and a cooler box with ice.
