MARRIOTT TRANSFORMS ITS ASIA PACIFIC PROPERTIES INTO DREAM DESTINATIONS

You’ll be forgiven for thinking you’re in the Land of the Smiles when you check into The St. Regis Singapore this holiday season. From November 19 to 13 December, guests will be greeted with “sawadee khrup!” and welcomed by refreshing Siam Mary cocktails, Thai sweet treats, and an authentic Thai feast featuring khao tom goong and mango salad. Meanwhile, relaxing Thai foot massages await at the spa.

Call it Christmas magic if you will—Marriott International has launched its pilot #YourDreamDestinationAwaits campaign, which sees 13 hotels across Asia Pacific host localised experiences from destinations like Bali, Bangkok, Seoul, Paris, and New York.

To fulfil the wanderlust of travel-starved guests, each of the participating hotels will feature signature activities reminiscent of a particular destination. These include staff uniforms, ambient music played in the lobby, decor, and culturally relevant cuisine.

Rajeev Menon, president of Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China) at Marriott International, said: “With this pilot campaign, we want to leverage Marriott International’s significant distribution of hotels across some of world’s most exciting destinations to spark travel inspirations on where Marriott can take them when international travel resumes. The year has been without a doubt very different, but we believe we will travel again.”

Offering a novel twist to staycations, this campaign will run throughout the month of November and December. In Australia, W Brisbane will recreate elements from W Bali-Seminyak, bringing its guests a slice of island bliss through swaying hammocks, beanbags under colourful Balinese umbrellas, and a coconut cart serving the Indonesian property’s well-loved cocktails and Bintang beers. At JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok (main picture), Japan’s Nara Prefecture will be brought to life via a sake master class, traditional Japanese cuisine at Tsu, and a soothing tea scrub infused with persimmon—a signature spa treatment at JW Marriott Hotel Nara.

Travelers in Asia Pacific dreaming of the Big Apple can check in at The St. Regis Osaka, which will offer experiences from The St. Regis New York. There’ll be live jazz music, art exhibitions, dining menus from the sister property’s King Cole Bar, as well as movies screened in a hall that’s been transformed into a broadway theatre.
