Fancy assembling your own IKEA furniture and eating them too? This Christmas, the Swedish furniture giant has launched The Gingerbread Höme assembly kits, which come with step-by-step illustrations reminiscent of its signature DIY instruction manuals.
Free to download and print, the assembly kits come with assembly instructions, templates, as well as 3D printing files of cookie cutter shapes in iconic furniture items like the Strandmon chair, the Malm bedframe, and the Billy bookcase. Simply cut out the templates (or use the 3D-printed shapes), trace around them to cut out pieces of gingerbread, bake and assemble, before decorating them with icing.
Earlier this year, the company also released an instruction manual for building a fort at home with various home items, so as to keep the little ones entertained during the festive season. Throughout December, IKEA Family card members can scan their cards in-store or enter their card number online at checkout for a chance to win an IKEA gingerbread furniture kit, along with a $100 IKEA gift card.
