Dreams do come true even if we’re stuck in an ongoing pandemic. Tokyo Disneyland, the first Disney park to be built outside of the United States, has announced that its newly expanded areas will open on September 28. The largest expansion in the park’s history will include Beauty and the Beast, as well as Baymax attractions.
Featuring new rides, restaurants, and shops, the large-scale development will span Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Toontown, which are three of seven themed lands in the park. The highlight is the new Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction, where a life-sized replica of Belle’s town stands, along with the Beast’s castle.

Meanwhile, the new Happy Ride with Baymax, inspired by Disney Animation’s Oscar-winning film, will launch in Tomorrowland. It’s said to be the world’s first rotating ride attraction. Parkgoers can also look forward to enjoying new treats at The Big Pop, a specialised popcorn shop. At Toontown, guests can meet and greet characters at the new Minnie’s Style Studio.

Meanwhile, one of the attractions in the original project, the Broadway-style Fantasyland Forest Theatre and its Mickey’s Magical Music World show, will only debut at a later date.
However, one of the attractions in the project — the Broadway-style Fantasyland Forest Theatre and its Mickey’s Magical Music World show — will not be included in this months’s opening and will debut at a later date.
