The worldwide enthusiasm for new tech products shows no signs of slowing down, despite the ongoing pandemic. In Singapore, a new Apple store will soon open at the glitzy stretch that is Marina Bay—its third store in the city-state.
Slated to become the world’s first Apple store to “float” on water, Apple Marina Bay Sands will be housed in a sphere-like building sitting on the waters just off the MBS mall. The dome-like structure had formerly been Avalon from 2011 to 2016, an American nightlife establishment.
The tech giant’s site teased the new store with this message: “We will soon open the doors to our new store by the Bay. Apple Marina Bay Sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions. It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new. We can’t wait to see where your imagination takes you.”
By the looks of Apple’s existing stores in the Lion City, Knightsbridge mall on Orchard Road and Jewel Changi Airport, the new outlet may feature localised design elements and regular hands-on workshops hosted by creatives.
