GET PAID TO TRAVEL DOMESTICALLY IN THAILAND STARTING JULY 15

Thai nationals rejoice—a new program to help boost domestic tourism will start on July 15. Those 20 and above through October will enjoy discounts of up to 40 percent on their travel and accommodation costs thanks to a THB22.4-billion fund allocated by the finance and tourism ministries’ tourism stimulus plan.

Travelers can register with Krung Thai Bank, with whom they must first have an account. Accommodation coverage is capped at THB3,000 per night, for up to five nights one time only during the program. Meanwhile, the travel subsidy, capped at THB1,000, will cover domestic flights, car rentals, as well as interprovincial buses.

In addition, travelers who book their stays under this program will also receive a THB600 e-voucher to use for food and services in the destination province until on the day they check out.

As appreciation for front-line medical workers and volunteers combating the COVID-19 pandemic, THB2,000 will be given per person for travel booked through an agent.

While Thailand’s international travel ban has been lifted on July 1, strict regulations remain on who can enter the kingdom. Meanwhile, tourists will not be able to enter due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
